Whether you have engaged a funeral director or not, I can help you put together a ceremony that is compassionate, deeply personal and even entertaining.
People find that my warm nature, combined with my confidence in public speaking, compassionate heart, understanding of grief and even my sense of humour make me a perfect candidate for conducting funerals and memorials.
I possess strong initiative, read people well and consider it an honour and privilege to sit with others through their individual experience.
Together we’ll work out the most fitting way to say goodbye.

FUNERAL V MEMORIAL - WHATS THE DIFFERENCE?
Simply put - The only difference is whether there is a coffin present.
More and more people are choosing to hold their ceremonies post-cremation/burial which allows for more choice regarding timelines and location.
You may already have the details set, or still be floating ideas.
It doesn’t matter how much is yet to be decided - this is where I can help; either working with a funeral arranger or directly with you to plan the event.
Whether you want to call it a funeral, memorial or even a celebration of life - the choice is yours and I’ll follow your lead or guide where you need.
Most importantly - I will have your back from the first phone call to the final song.

Working in the funeral space since 2017, I bring years of experience and a barrel full of suggestions.
We can explore the possibilities together.
Funeral venue ideas include:

Restaurant, Theatre, Club or Bars.
Art Galleries.
A fresh, modern and respectfully irreverent approach to creating the perfect send-off.
What happens when you contact me?
After an initial phone chat to make sure I’m available and the right fit for you, we’ll lock in a meeting.
Meetings can take place in person or online, depending on your circumstances.
We will gently discuss plans, different elements of the service and I will ask enough questions about your person in order to be able to paint a full picture on the day.Emails will go back and forwards with script drafts and any updates and I will also chat with funeral directors or other relevant parties.
If you need me to supply my PA/speaker or music stand or memorial candles, this is all possible and free of charge.
General event details such as venue, catering, projector, live-streaming, printing, staff etc will be handled either by a funeral director or yourselves, but I am always here with suggestions and contacts if you need.
Anything to do with the ceremony; writing, liaising with other speakers, creating the running sheet, etc is my job.
On the day
I will arrive 30-60 mins prior (depending on needs).
Follow the dress code.
Introduce myself to family, all speakers and staff.
Ensure tech staff have my running sheet and that all sound and AV equipment is working and ready.
Gather the attendees before our set start time.
Run a ceremony that is personalised, inclusive, fresh, vibrant and as I have been told countless times: unforgettable.
And when the final song is done, I will give you a printed copy of the script, hugs all round and leave you to the after-party.
End of Life Plan - The Funky Celebrant
As a funeral celebrant I have had the privilege to be with many families at one of the toughest times of their lives.
Even if we're laughing at stories and being (respectfully) irreverent, it can be tough.
And it got me thinking - how many of us really think about ‘end of life’ and how we might want that to play out for our friends and family when the time comes - answer?
Almost no one.
So in true funky celebrant style, I have created a guide for you that I know might be confronting but hugely helpful when it’s needed most. You can download it here - no strings attached!
